Raised with Christ (Conclusion, Colossians 4:2-18)

It has been my prayer that this time in the Word has helped you better understand the unmerited sacrifice of redemption that we have received and the new life we have because we have been raised with Christ.

May we be strengthened by his power to live worthy of our calling, with the assurance that his sacrifice is sufficient to give us victory over our sin.

Paul’s Exhortations

Prayer and Thanksgiving (v. 2)

We are exhorted to remain in prayer, in constant communication with God. Remembering that we have access to his throne of grace.

Our prayers must be full of thanksgiving, let us be careful not to fall into the error of praying without remembering everything for which we should be grateful.

Perhaps your current circumstances do not have much to be thankful for, but we should always give thanks for his Grace and his redemptive work.

Pray for pastors and missionaries (v. 3-4)

Certainly, each one of us has a call to make known the mystery of God in Christ, as we saw at the beginning of the letter.

But there are also others, like Paul, who have a particular call to knock on doors that we will not reach. Let us pray that the Lord will open doors for the preaching of his Word in our community and the ends of the world.
